DIY of the Day: New Anthropologie Drawer Pulls For My Drab-To-Fab Orange Dresser
Remember this guy? A couple of years ago, I refurbished the nasty old high-boy dresser that had been abandoned by a previous tenant at my old rental house. I thought, "Hey, free dresser...Why not paint it orange?" Originally, I had wanted to embellish the orange masterpiece with some fancy-schmancy drawer pulls from Anthropologie, but with those suckers being priced at $6-$12 a pop, I decided to go with the chincy but much more wallet-friendly $3 plastic pulls from Loews (I couldn't find 10 to match, so I put orange knobs on the top two smaller drawers and clear on the rest). They looked pretty good, definitely better than it had before the refurb. But...a few days ago I found myself at Anthro, and before you know it, I was walking out with these beautiful teal-colored bubbled glass orbs for $6 a piece. Not too bad, honestly, and I think they add a really nice pop of color to the dresser.
It's a subtle change, but it feels cleaner and more visually interesting to me. Only side effect... Now, I want to add some other bright colors to the throw pillow arrangement on my living room couch. And, I already have plans for the next incarnation of this wardrobe; matte white with these or these. #designaddiction #keepmeoutofanthro
